David Clarke finishes 2nd in Beeley Moor Hill Climb. Bailey Waters finishes 3rd in round 6 of the Notts & Derbys Cyclo Cross League


David Clarke's build up to the National Hill Climb Championship saw him ride three hill climbs in succession. The first was on Riber Hill organised by Matlock CC. Clarke was 6th in 3 53.6. The winner was Robert Gough (John's Bikes RT) in 3 48.8. It was then over to Beeley Moor to compete in Chesterfield Coureurs Hill Climb. Here Clarke had his best result by finishing 2nd in 9 10.3. He was beaten by the reigning hill climb champion James Dobbin (Arctic Premier RT) who timed 9 00.3. The third event of the day meant travelling back to Matlock to ride the Bank Road hill. Clarke was 5th in 2 49.7. The surprise winner was Lewis Cowley of Burton's Plan B RT in 2 35.7. This hill will be used for the national championship.

In round 6 of the Notts & Derbys Cyclo Cross League held at Alfreton Park Bailey Waters was 3rd in the under 10's race. Elliot Waters was in the top 10 placed 9th. He was the best placed 6 year old. The winner was John Webster. In the under 12's race Joshua Waters was 6th. Arthur Green (Matlock CC) was the winner. In the 120 rider Seniors, Veterans & Ladies Race. Their father Justin finished 99th, Keith Staley was 108th. Phil Machin retired when he had punctured. The winner was top cyclo cross rider David Collins (Science in Sport/ Trek)
