Mercia Report 29-04-07

Mercia H.B.M C.C evening time-trial

Sean Sleigh (Plan B) was the fastest rider in the last 10 mile evening time-trial on the Anslow circuit with a time of 24:57. Mercia H.B.M rider Keith Staley was 2nd with 25:39, and in 3rd place was Gary Brown with 25:42. The other 11 riders times were Phil. Jones 27:04, Alex Taylor 27:05, Simon Parker 27:07, Mick Skivington (Plan B) 27:15, Paul Taylor 27:28, Ivor James 27:45, Mark Eccleston 28:42, Nick Marriott 29:59, Adrian Waters 30:20, and Peter Rose 34:55. At one lap Dave Peters 16:54.

B.D.C.A Time-trial 22-04-07

BURTON & DISTRICT CYCLING ALLIANCE 25 MILE TIME TRIAL HELD ON SUNDAY 22nd, APRIL 2007.

A good morning on the A25/11 (the A50 course between Etwall & Uttoxeter). 19 riders were under the hour from an entry of 51 riders, in this event promoted by the Mercia H.B.M Cycling Club.

Mercia Report 22-04-07

Mercia H.B.M Cycling Club’s handicapped evening time trial.

The fourth evening time-trial was handicapped & over 10 miles. The top three Mercia H.B.M riders on handicap were: Paul Taylor 21:07, Alex Taylor 22:41, & Phil Jones 23:00. The fastest actual times were Sam Freeman (Plan B) 24:16, Keith Staley 26:02, Daniel Partington 27:28, Noel Adams 27:38, Alex Taylor 27:41, Phil Jones 28:00, Paul Taylor 28:07, Chris Wells (Plan B) 28:10, Ivor James 28:21, Ann Staley (Plan B) 30:09, Adrian Waters 30:46, Pete Rose 35:14, Stan Crofts 37:29, and at one lap Dave Peters 17:28.

Mercia Report 16-04-07

Matt Simons finishes in 27th place in Hilly time-trial, Peter Rose competes in veterans time-trial, and David Clark races in the Girvan 3 day in Scotland.

The third evening time-trial was over 10 miles, in warm still conditions. David Clarke, who had just returned from racing in Scotland was the fastest in 23:37. In second place was Christian Aucote (Plan B) in 23:55, and in third place was Sean Sleigh (Plan B) in 25:36. The rest of the competitors times were as follows Keith Staley 25:43. Gary Brown 25:51. Steve Herriman (Plan B) 27:08, Mick Skivington (Plan B) 27:16, Simon Parker 27:22, Alex Taylor 27:24, Ivor James 27:33, Tony Pickance (Plan B) 28:11, Mark Eccleston 28:43, James Allen (Plan B) 30:32, Peter Rose 35:20, and Stan Crofts 35:42.

Mercia Report 08-04-07

Wally Pasley wins The Roller Racing Handicap Trophy & David Clarke’s First Racing Trip to Belgium in 2007.

The second evening time-trial attracted 14 riders on cold & windy night, to cover the 5 mile Anslow circuit. The fastest rider was Plan B’s track racing specialist Sam Freeman in 12:01, second fastest was Kieran Friend (C.C Giro) in 12:44 & in third place was Mercia H.B.M’s Gary Brown in 12:49. The other eleven riders times were: Keith Staley 12:59, Christian Aucote (Plan B) 13:03, Sean Sleigh (Plan B) 13:17, Mick Skivington (Plan B) 13:44, Alex. Taylor 13:58, Ivor James 14:07, Mark Eccleston 14:34, Phil Jones 14:55, Tony Pickance (Plan B) 15:01, Adrian Waters 16:30, and Peter Rose 18:09.
